About The Web Guys

The Web Guys (aka Mike Oles of Ellsworth & Mike Waterman of Bar Harbor) are freelance sports photographers. They have been concentrating on auto racing but are open to photograph anything. Mike & Mike can be seen weekly at Unity Raceway in Unity, ME during the summer. The Web Guys all digital photography allows Mike & Mike to take photos to be printed or published on a website. The digital web photos eliminate the scanning process for webmasters and at 5 megapixels the quality is superb.

Mike O. has also been invited to Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ, New England Dragway in Epping, NH, Star Speedway in Epping, NH, Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH & West Cove Ice Racing Association in Greenville, ME. Mike O's photos have been published in the Racin' Paper (including 7 cover photos), Moosehead Messenger, Kennebec Journal, Speedway Scene and the photography book Wandering Spirits. In 2003 Mike O. shot both NASCAR weekends at NHIS in Loudon, NH. He also covered races at Thunder Road in Barre, VT, White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, NH, Wiscasset Raceway in Wiscasset, ME & Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME. April 2004 Mike O. received the Outstanding Achievement in Amateur Photography Award presented by the International Society of Photographers in Washington, DC. During the 3 day convention he met fellow photographers from all over the world including renowned sports photographer Stuart Haman, who is known for his Horse Racing photos as well as Superbowl shots for the Baltimore Ravens.

Mike W. besides frequenting Unity Raceway has been to Lee USA Speedway and West Cove Ice Racing Association races. Mike W's photos have also been published in the Racin' Paper (including 2 covers) and Moosehead Messenger. Mike W. also covered races at NHIS, White Mountain, Oxford and Wiscasset in 2003.

The Web Guys' goal is to not only get the best photo but also to use their creativity to find a shot that no one else will get. Most track photographers stay in the same basic spot during the whole event. However, if The Web Guys are on hand they will cover the entire racing facility.
